We prepare a green screen on the spot. As the name suggests, it is a monochrome green background. This colour is deliberately chosen because it is most different from the objects and people in the photo.
After the photo is taken, the chroma keying itself comes into play. Special software identifies the background colour and removes it from the photo. It is then replaced by any virtual environment.
